Beginning Photo Projects
Music
Project Reflection:
The first photo I chose to represent my work because I think that this is what I think of when I think about music. My original idea was to have a girl playing a violin in nature, who is being viewed from above. My favorite photo is about a young musician who likes to play out in the open air. The composition techniques that I used were rule of thirds, point of view (bird's eye), and balance with contrasting colors. In doing this project I learned that lighting is really important in getting the feeling that you want in your photos. I also learned that getting up closer to you main focus makes for a more interesting photo. The first thing that I would change would be to maybe have gone to and area with less in the background when I took the leaping photos. The second thing that I would change would be the lighting of the area I could have gone in more shady areas than in the sunny ones. I really enjoyed expressing how I feel about music through someone else being a model for me.

Colors
Project Reflection:
The first photo is the one I choose to represent my work because it is so magical and really gives a good start to all of my other photos. My idea was inspired by the colors of bubbles and I could use photoshop and make the colors pop. My favorite photo is about my childish love for bubbles and how bubbles are so magical. The composition of my favorite photo has Depth of Field, Patterns, and Asymmetry. What I learned is that lighting is key in some types of photos, and that I could use a tripod to make some photos more clear. Two things I would change is the lighting because I didn't do to well with my indoor lighting, and I would change the perspective of some of the photos to make them more interesting.

Reflections
Project Reflection:
I chose this for my cover image because it is the coolest of all of my other reflection photos. My idea was to capture all the natural fall colors in a reflection, and I live next to a creek so I used the water to crate reflections, and the background was cool the sky had no clouds it was completely blue. My favorite photo is about fall and all the colors of the trees. The composition in this photo includes Rule of thirds, Depth of field, Point of view, Leading lines. What I learned is that sometimes the reflective substance reflects different way depending on time of day, weather, how much light there is, and direction of shadows. Two things that I would change would be the time of day and the point of view of some photos. It also has a sort of optical illusion if you look close enough the water sort of bends and looks like the front of the photo is lower when its not.

Water
Project Reflection:
This is my favorite photo because of the way the water is so clear but still reflects. My idea was to get as close to the water as I could and take a picture. My favorite photo is about how water is not all flat and has bumps. This photo has rule of thirds, worms eye view, balance, leading lines. I learned that not all rocks and creek beds are very stable to walk on. Two things that I could change are the angle and the shutter speed of my camera. In taking my favorite picture I had to squeeze my camera carefully in between two rocks. Also in doing this project I had a major panic attack when my camera fell all the way in the creek water. But its ok my camera is still perfectly ok thankfully.

Alphabet
Project Reflection:
I chose this to represent my work because it is the whole alphabet. My idea was to go out in the world and look at things a different way than normal. I also had the task of finding the entire alphabet. My favorite photo is about my love of letters. Compositional techniques that I used were Point of view, Patterns, Lines, Symmetry, Consistency. What I learned in this project is that there are hidden things all over our planet that you don't normally see. Also if you look closely you will se things that you wouldn't notice if you don't pay attention. Two things that I would change would be the lighting of some of the photos, and maybe the angle.
